Winter, Summer, Suburban Exile is a collection of songs that prelude the idea of an album as a whole organism. The evolution of Stewart's songwriting processes throughout the album as she arrives, at it's conclusion, to her strongest authentic voice as a storyteller. Winter, Summer, Suburban Exile is a journey exploring freedom versus restraint, raw and unapologetic in it's coverage of such complex terrain.

Recorded at Leisure Suit Studios in NSW with her long time musical collaborator Grant Shanahan who also engineered this record. Matt Galvin played electric guitars and Michael Carpenter played drums. Grant played bass and did all the backing vocals. Mixed by Bek-Jean and Michael Carpenter at Love Htz studio in Sydney. Mastered by William Bowden at King Willy Sound.

Bek-Jean Stewart Australia

Bek-Jean Stewart entered the Australian Music scene in the early 90’s as songwriter and singer with indie- pop band Eva Trout. The band was signed by US label Trauma Records and toured both Australia and the United States. She has gone on to make some astonishing solo records, all of which have been lauded by critics in Australia, Europe and the US. She is one of Australia's best kept secrets. ... more
